Study metal frame, solid top. Able to put together on my own - did not need a second person to hold parts. Came with all the screws and tool neatly shrink-wrapped. Arrived in one package, well put together, no scratches. Should hold up nicely. Good deal for the price. I like the size of the legs - doesn't take up a lot of visual weight.
So far I love this desk. It fits perfectly in my craft room. The desktop is deep enough that I will have space to craft and still have my laptop within reach. Directions threw us off a bit at first but otherwise was easy to put together.
