Just remodeled our kitchen and dining room. It is always chilly in that part of the house, so we decided on this item. It is beautiful and it was simple for my husband and I to install. The instructions say that the wall above should be completely smooth, and you can see that we have a wide window sill that sticks out. The vent is on the top, so the sill gets warm, especially when we put it on high. We are going to have a small metal curved hood fabricated to put around the vent. (My husband is an engineer.) It will direct the heat out without blocking it at all. This is a beautiful fireplace that works great. The choice between white rocks or glass pieces is nice to have, as is the choice between an orange flame or a blue one. It’s a pretty quiet fan. Our kitchen is painted gray with white cabinets and white trim, so the white frame is perfect for us. I’ve seen it described as “ivory” but it really does look much closer to a true, optic white. Lastly, the remote is great to have, but if it’s not handy the controls are easy to access on the top right of the box behind the glass.

Construction of this fireplace is superb. It is exactly want we wanted. Delivery was within days of our on line purchase
