Our 3 dogs are not out very much during freezing weather, but this is great to keep their water from freezing for a really cold, refreshing drink. We have a smaller heated water bowl in the front for homeless cats in our neighborhood.

This bowl has been perfect for our huskey! Even when we got overe a food of snow, it kept the water from freezing, and even caused the snow to melt into the bowl forming walls around the bowl. In the morning Akita (our dog) burst out of his snowbank igloo and was able to go right to his bowl for a drink of water.

Great bowl! The last one lasted several years and only needed to be replaced due to me accidentally cracking it in below freezing temps. No fault of the bowl!
