This is a great purchase for any age. They are very sturdy. I was surprised how good the quality is for the price. I plan on purchasing a third one.
I bought 2 of these folding desks for my new home, as I have been working from home since March 2020 and don't see that stopping any time soon. They were extremely easy to put together, and only required screwing the top onto the base. The flexibility that these desks allows is great too! When I need some extra work space, I can bring out the second one, and when I don't need it, I can fold it up and store it in the closet. I originally thought the gray color was going to look like a flat gray paint, but it actually looks like a dark gray stain, and you can see the grain of the wood through it. I was pleasantly surprised by the good quality of these desks for the price! One last thing that I noticed is that if you want to make sure the desk is sturdy, you HAVE to use the keyboard tray to keep the legs open. Without the tray it feels a little wobbly, but you could probably still get away without using the tray if you will only be doing light activity on top of the desk. Overall this desk fit my needs almost perfectly! The only down side for me is that the keyboard tray is about an inch or so too low for me to be able to use my under-desk foot cycle (Desk Cycle brand, for reference). From the ground to the under side of the tray is 24.75". My knees just start to hit the keyboard tray, but I am only 5'3" so I can't really back up any farther to stretch my legs out or else I wouldn't be able to reach the pedals. This isn't a huge downside for me since I can find other times to use my Desk Cycle, but for others it may be an issue.
