The top surface is 75% plastic and just the area where the monitor rests is hardwood. This was ok for me but a bit surprising. I'm using a heavy monitor arm that clamps to be back of the top surface and it has held up ok for a few weeks now holding a 49" ultra-wide, heavy monitor. The legs are solid metal. I connected the USB cable for the led lights to my monitor so they are only on when the monitor is on. The cup holder diameter was made for aluminum cans. Not a big deal as I could find a narrow cup or water bottle but wish it was like the car cup holders that can take different cup sizes. Assembly was smooth and it is shipped with extra screws just in case. The mat for the keyboard is of high quality. Overall I would recommend it. It is highly functional. It was not too expensive considering it had to be shipped through the mail and the legs are heavy. Plus the looks are way too cool.
My son loves this desk. Relatively easy to put together, some of the holes weren't exactly aligned but otherwise no problems. works well for gaming and remote learning.

My son loves this desk. Very good size and durable. Nice looking and matches the rest of his set up. Awesome desk. The only thing i wish is the cup holder had some sorta stopper as it doesnt fit just any drink.. it has to be something that stops or gets wider as it goes toward neck. So no pop cans or something that the same size all the way around. Small little thing.. still worth purchase
